Photo of the Week: Light and shadow at the Johor election – Alif Omar

A PROFESSIONAL photographer will definitely create images during an assignment. Especially for a photojournalist who will be given tasks every day – creating photos is a must. Otherwise, the results will be bland.

A great photo is the result of many shots over a single moment or day. It has been pared down to an image that tells a story. How the arrangement of time and space will give way to seeing the world with fresh eyes.

If you're only pressing the shutter button, you’re not a professional photographer. Anyone can do it.

This picture was created during the recent Johor election. I tried to show something interesting and meaningful that can be interpreted in any way.

Looking at the photo, some may have imagined the struggle of the people of this party to win the election. Maybe some saw, in the light, a glimmer of hope for them to win in the election. Or that the brightness could even signify success.

This is actually a created picture and it will give a thousand meanings. More importantly, it was not just a shutter press. – The Vibes, March 20, 2022
