EARLIER this week, the Never Fear Truth NFT platform, an NFT community for art and creativity affiliated with Johnny Depp, announced they had raised close to US$800,000 (RM3.5 million) in donations to be given to multiple organisations.

Johnny Depp’s Never Fear Truth NFT sale was always intended to benefit charities and we are pleased to be able to confirm that nearly $800,000 in total donations have been contributed to the following organizations:
In a statement on the Twitter page, they revealed the charities, namely: “Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (via CAF America), Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (via CAF America), The Footprint Coalition, [and] the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.”

The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, one of the recipients, is tied to his ex-wife, Amber Heard, with whom he had a highly publicised defamation case which dominated headlines around the world.
During the trial, it was revealed that Heard did not donate any of the US$7 million she had received from Depp as part of their divorce settlement in 2016, despite pledging to do so.
Heard then revealed to Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, that she has not done so because of all the legal costs that she has to pay due to Depp.
During questioning on whether she had donated the money, Heard repeatedly said she ‘pledged’ to donate the money, and compared the donation to paying off a mortgage on the house through instalments.
Since the end of the trial, Depp has been seen performing on stage with musician Jeff Beck, and recently got a new tattoo of a broken arrow while in Norway. He has also denied rumours that he will be returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, in which he played the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow. – The Vibes, July 9, 2022
