NETFLIX film Kill Boksoon, which will receive its world premiere at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, will be released on 31 March on Netflix.

The action film follows Boksoon (portrayed by Jeon Do-yeon), who leads a double life as a mother to a teenage daughter and a legendary professional killer with a 100% success rate at a top-tier killing agency.

Although the best at her work, Boksoon struggles to raise her daughter Gil Jae-young (portrayed by Kim Si-A), who seems to be going through her own teenage emotional turmoil.

With her contract renewal period impending, Boksoon decides to leave the company to find out what is keeping her teenage daughter shut away from her.

People that Boksoon works with are Chairman Cha Min-kyu (portrayed by Sul Kyung-gu), who recruited Boksoon for her talents, and Director Cha Min-hee (portrayed by Esom), both of whom who are completely different from the people Boksoon meets as a mother.

Han Hee-sung (portrayed by Koo Kyo-hwan), who is unparalleled in skill but is taken for granted at the agency, also adds to the intrigue.

The strong and captivating ensemble cast of Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Esom and Koo Kyo-hwan meets the stylish directing, delicately crafted action sequences, and colourful portrayal of characters by writer and director Byun Sung-hyun.

Director Byun has proven to be a strong storyteller who brings unforgettable characters to life. His past work includes The Merciless (2017), which was invited to the 70th Cannes Film Festival, and Kingmaker (2022).

How Gil Boksoon manages the fine line between her identity as a killer and a single mother and the synergy of actors whose characters are entangled in dangerous yet intriguing relationships will unfold in Kill Boksoon, available on 31 March, only on Netflix. – The Vibes, February 2, 2023
