STAND-UP comedian and entertainer from Mumbai, Rahul Subramanian, will be kicking off the Southeast Asian tour of his new comedy special, “Who Are You?” in Malaysia.

Organised by LOL Asia, the event is set to take place on May 7 at The Platform, Menara Ken TTDI.

Subramaniam has been performing since 2014 after breaking into the comic scene by winning stand-up and open mic competitions like Virgin Pants and Canvas Laugh Club.

Along with his friend, Kumar Varun, they started a YouTube channel titled ‘Random Chikibum’, which averaged millions of views.

Rahul also appeared in the most recent seasons of Amazon Prime Video shows ‘Comicstaan’ and ‘Comedy Premium League’ in addition to his own and very successful ‘Kal Main Udega’ Amazon Prime Video special.

Last month, Rahul was featured in Amazon Prime Video’s crowd-work special Rahul Talks to People. The show presented unscripted and unrehearsed conversations with six different sets of audiences across five cities.

Rahul attributes his ability to make extemporaneous and instantaneous improvisations, along with his sharp sense of humor, to winning people over since gaining fame, and he has leveraged this notoriety to the fullest extent.

Back on the road with his brand-new stand-up comedy special titled ‘Who Are You?’, which commences its Southeast Asia Tour beginning with Malaysia, Rahul jests, “If you’re struggling figuring out who you really are, then don't worry, as this show will not be of help in any way!”

“Indians are everywhere; hence we can perform anywhere,” he quipped.

When he is not doing stand-up or acting in videos by ‘Random Chikibum’ or ‘All India Bakchod,’ you will see Rahul pursuing his hobbies which include seeing, waiting, and getting stuck in traffic.

All things that help him write better jokes and sketches that make you go “hey, that has happened to me too!”

LOL Asia chief executive officer Rizal Kamal said, “Rahul is an incredible comedy talent. His persona is fresh, and he is highly comfortable on stage; like it is his second home! No doubt Rahul will be a big star in the making.”

Tickets are now live and available online. Rahul is represented by LOL Asia in Malaysia. – The Vibes, April 17, 2023
