THE School of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mawar Medical Centre (MMC) and CMH Specialist Hospital.
The MOU is an initiative to enhance practical learning opportunities for the school’s students at MMC and CMH Specialist Hospital.
MMC chairman Datuk Seri Lee Tian Hock said the traditional Chinese medicine students would be able to intern at CMH Specialist Hospital and MMC to gain practical understanding and participate in the operation of specialist hospitals.
"The hospitals will provide interns with opportunities to understand the operations of other departments such as accounting, marketing, and more, allowing them to gain a comprehensive insight into the local healthcare landscape,” ,” he said at the signing ceremony in Seremban.
“The hospitals will also encourage interns to interact with doctors and staff, fostering innovation through the exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences.
Lee said the demand for medical services has become increasingly diverse and personalised.
“Only through highly professional and quality medical teams can we meet the needs of the times. This is the goal of our cooperation with Xiamen University – to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes,” he said.
He said CMH Specialist Hospital and MMC are in a phase of vigorous development.
“We are not only focusing on physical hospital infrastructure but also on enhancing medical technology and equipment while deepening our medical expertise.
“CMH Specialist Hospital has also begun researching and discussing the development of a traditional Chinese medicine Department. We firmly believe that the integration of Chinese and Western medical technologies is the future trend,” he said. – July 17, 2024.
