The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in a statement said this will take effect from Oct 16 - 24.

"However, the implementation will depend on the suitability of each academic programme at the relevant institutions, to ensure there are no disruptions.

"MOHE decided on this to give all Hindu students and academic staff the opportunity to celebrate Deepavali with their families in a more meaningful and harmonious environment," read the statement.
