ALOR STAR – The Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah International Islamic University (Unishams) is ready to offer an opportunity for 18 Malaysian students who were displaced by the unrest in Khartoum, Sudan, to continue their studies here.
The university’s Vice-Chancellor’s Office said in a statement that it also provides learning in Arabic and has more than 30 international teaching staff from Arab countries.
“Unishams would like to record its appreciation for the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s success in implementing the Evacuation Plan in Sudan to bring back 30 Malaysians home safely yesterday.
“Unishams is ready with opportunities and offers (for the affected students) to continue their (university) studies (here) in relevant fields and levels and which is subject to further discussion and approval by the Higher Education Ministry,” it said.
In the statement, it said it is also ready to offer maximum credit transfer to ensure that the continuation of studies for all 18 affected students can be dealt with immediately, subject to its academic regulations and ministry approval. – Bernama, April 29, 2023
