NILAI – Form 6 education should not be too bound by school rules even though it is conducted on school grounds, said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The prime minister said the Form 6 environment needs to be changed because it is really a form of post-school matriculation as the school session ends in Form 5.

“I will bring it up with Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek so that Form 6 isn’t treated like school, the culture and environment. I agree because I also went to Form 6.

“For Form 6, we need to determine the methods so that the way teachers treat (students) and the environment needs to be given more space so they can be free to interact, unlike (under) school rules,” he said during an interview at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia here today.

He added that many sixth formers have complained about the rules and culture and urged for it to be changed during previous dialogue sessions. – Bernama, June 24, 2023
