KUALA LUMPUR – None of the residents of Kg Lembah Jaya Utara expected the muddy flash floods that struck last Monday night to destroy their homes and property.
The last time a catastrophic flood disaster occurred there, around Lembah Jaya, Ampang was in 2012.
This time, 206 residential units were destroyed, and two villages severely affected, involving 1,019 victims.
Following the incident, many houses were damaged and needed cleaning up.
A few good Samaritans appeared to help the residents clean their houses, including a neighbour from Desa Lembah Permai Flats who did not want to be identified.
However, he himself had to put his efforts to help on hold after he stepped on glass embedded in the mud; alone at the time, he had to endure the pain for almost a few minutes, almost passing out because the others were busy cleaning their houses.
Fortunately, one of his friends saw that he was almost unconscious and rushed to call firefighters who immediately came to help, and rushed him to the hospital.
