PRNNS: Loke: We must win all 11 seats to help PH form state government
DAP is aiming to secure victory in all 11 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats contested during the Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN).
Its Secretary-General, Anthony Loke Siew Fook said this was to ensure that Pakatan Harapan (PH) has enough seats to form the state government with at least a simple majority.
However, he admitted that the party faces competition, especially in seats that see a one-on-one clash, including the Chennah seat that he is contesting.
“We entered the arena, of course, wanting to win. We are enthusiastic and confident that we will contribute 11 seats to PH.
“So, for each seat, we will campaign and fight hard. The most challenging seat is the Chennah DUN seat, which I am contesting.
“Of course, PH wants to ensure that we can win half or at least a simple majority in Negeri Sembilan, and for that simple majority, DAP needs to contribute our incumbent seats, which are 11 seats,” he said when met yesterday.
Loke said that the strategy planned by Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) is also a challenge that PH must face in Negeri Sembilan.
“This is a challenge that PH must face in Negeri Sembilan. However, we will ensure tough competition in every seat.
“PH still has a chance to win the majority of seats in Negeri Sembilan. So we will continue to campaign as a team in the face of these manoeuvres,” he said.
He also questioned MCA’s strategy of not fielding candidates in three state seats, namely Lobak, Mambau and Lukut.
He said that all of these seats are Chinese majority seats and traditional seats for MCA that the party should have contested. – July 20, 2026
