DATIN Seri Rosmah Mansor has appealed for prayers for her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as he prepares to undergo a medical procedure to remove plaque near a blood vessel.

In a Facebook post yesterday, Rosmah expressed her appreciation for the support and concern shown by Najib’s family, friends and supporters, while asking them to pray for a smooth procedure and his continued recovery.

“I greatly appreciate the concern shown by his friends and supporters. At this time, I ask everyone to continue praying that the procedure goes smoothly and that he is blessed with health and strength,” she said.

Rosmah also thanked those who had sent messages of encouragement and offered prayers for Najib’s well-being.

“Thank you for your continuous thoughts, love and prayers. May Allah protect him and grant him the best,” she added.

It was reported on Friday that Najib, 73, is scheduled to undergo the procedure next week as part of his medical treatment.

Najib is currently serving his prison sentence after being convicted in the SRC International case.

His 12-year jail term was reduced to six years by the Pardons Board in February 2024, while his fine was lowered from RM210 million to RM50 million.

In April, Najib withdrew his application seeking to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. – July 19, 2026
