MENARA Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower) has officially entered the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) after hosting the country’s highest Mid-Autumn Lantern Parade at 394 metres above sea level — a milestone event held at the tower’s Sky Terrace.

The parade, organised by LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd, attracted over 150 participants and visitors, who joined the open-air celebration of the Mooncake Festival while enjoying panoramic views of the capital. Guests also had the opportunity to capture their experience inside the iconic Sky Box.

"This programme was created to further introduce the Mooncake Festival, a traditional celebration among the Chinese community, to Malaysia’s wider multicultural society," said Khairil Faizal Othman, chief executive officer of LSH Service Master.

"The main aim is to highlight talents who can decorate lanterns as well as create awareness among the public about festivals that people in this country may overlook," he told Bernama at the event.

The MBOR certificate was presented by Menaga Vadamalai to Tan Sri Lim Keng Cheng, chairman of LSH Capital Berhad.

Khairil Faizal added that the event also marked a cultural prelude to Visit Malaysia Year 2026, with Menara KL’s new management — which took over operations in April — committed to turning the tower into a hub for tourism and cultural events.

“This is just the beginning. We intend to make Menara KL a central venue for programmes that appeal to both international tourists and local communities,” he said. - October 6, 2025
