AUSTRALIAN Rock legends AC/DC have confirmed their reunion with Brian Johnson on vocals through their upcoming single 'Shot in the Dark'.

After announcing the reunion which included guitarists Angus Young and Stevie Young, drummer Phil Rudd, and Bassist Cliff Williams on Sept 30, the band recently released a 30-second teaser for the new single.

The teaser on Instagram came after the band posted a photo depicting Johnson, Williams, and Rudd, who had all left the band in the past.

Both the Young brothers are continuing the family guitar-playing legacy following their sibling Malcolm Young's death in 2017.

'Shot in the Dark' is the first song to be released by the band in six years.

The band also posted another teaser in form of a poster outside Angus Young's former high school, which he dropped out of when he was 15-years-old, according to Loudwire. The posting directed fans to pwrup.acdc.com, allowing them to sign up for a mailing list for the latest updates on AC/DC’s new album.

Johnson had been the band's frontman since 1980, following the death of pioneer member Bon Scott. However, hearing loss had prompted Johnson to depart the band in 2016, while Williams retired in 2017.

According to The Guardian, the latest reunion is Rudd's third stint in the band. In the first round, Rudd played from 1975 to 1983, then rejoined in 1994.

In 2015, Rudd was replaced by former AC/DC drummer Christ Slade after he was sentenced to eight months' house arrest following a conviction on drug possession and threatening to kill his personal assistant.

Formed in Sydney in 1973, AC/DC has released 16 studio albums, including "Highway to Hell" (1979), "High Voltage" (1976), and "Powerage" (1978).
