WITH each passing day, Malaysians are facing a raging pandemic, economic hardships, and 'leaders' who are fighting each other instead of fighting for us. The only way we will get out of this crisis is if we fight for each other.

Projek Bangsa Malaysia believes we will not give in to hopelessness and despair. Malaysians will rise up, join hands, and overcome this struggle together – as a united #BangsaMalaysia #BangkitMembantu.

It will be hosting a fundraiser concert ‘Derma Kilat Rakyat’ which will be streamed live on Facebook tomorrow (July 17) from 11am to 4pm.

This benefit concert, with a lineup of performances and appearances by Malaysian icons and stars such as Bront Palarae, Douglas Lim, Altimet, Datuk Seri Nazir Razak and Tony Fernandes, aims to raise RM3 million.

The funds raised will be channelled to Malaysian NGOs actively providing aid to Malaysians in need as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This effort follows a recent video released by Projek Bangsa Malaysia highlighting the plight of frontliners which brought to light the heartbreaking condition of Covid-19-ravaged Malaysia.

In the video, frontliners likened Malaysia to Italy 2020 and India 2021. They say that the Covid-19 death numbers released by the Ministry of Health are in fact lower than the actual numbers.

Multiple award-winning actor Bront Palarae said: "I am just happy to be invited and be part of this initiative. We Malaysians are all in this together and hopefully, through this initiative, we are able to contribute & help our society in these trying times."

The online concert will be streamed on Projek Bangsa Malaysia’s Facebook and donations from the public can be made to sinar.tv/donation. – The Vibes, July 16, 2021
