POLICE have arrested an individual suspected of being linked to the recent disappearance of two young brothers from the Taman Bernam Jaya housing area in Selangor.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Ahmad Faizal Tahrim, however, refused to reveal further details.
He said that investigation papers regarding the incident have been opened at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters, Berita Harian reported.
Both are believed to have been held against their will. The older of the siblings, who is 17 years old, was found but the other, who is 16, is still missing.
The two brothers were reported missing on the morning of January 1, after they were returning from morning prayers at a surau.
The older one was found in a very weak state at Pasar Seni LRT Station, Kuala Lumpur, on the night of January 11.
The victim’s 39-year-old mother said her son, affectionately known as Along, claimed that he and his younger brother were abducted by an unknown individual and locked up in a motel on Jalan Petaling.
“Along claimed that they were kept in a room until January 9 before being separated.
“However, he managed to escape when the man fell asleep after taking drugs,” she was quoted as telling Bernama.
He also managed to take the man’s mobile phone.
After he was found, he took the police to the place where he was held.
It is understood that the man was then arrested in connection with the disappearance of the two teens. – The Vibes, January 17, 2024
