AN assemblyman has suggested that the Selangor government use influencers to enhance the publicity of state government programmes and achievements, especially among the younger generation.

Kota Damansara assemblyman Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim stated that this is because the younger generation is more influenced by influencers in receiving information.

“I see that for different generations, the state executive council cannot solely conduct exhibitions and media briefings to disseminate information about what the government has implemented for the benefit of the people.

“There needs to be an approach from these influencers because the younger generation is also among the generations that are influenced and benefit from the state government’s programmes,” he said.

He said this when intervening in the debate on the Motion of Thanks for the Royal Address by R. Rajiv (Bukit Gasing-PH) at the Selangor assembly sitting in Shah Alam today.

Meanwhile, Rajiv suggested that members of the state executive council (MMKN) hold more frequent press conferences to inform people about the progress of government activities and programmes.

“The government’s efforts are not known through MMKN meetings and need to be publicised. Sometimes we as assemblymen do not know.

“The documents are thick every time MMKN meets every week. Many efforts are made but we outside may not know about those efforts,” he said.
