THE hot weather coupled with fasting caused a delivery rider to pass out from exhaustion in Penang recently.
According to reports in Sin Chew Daily, the incident occurred last Saturday when the delivery rider collapsed on the sidewalk along Lebuh Bishop.
Seeing the delivery rider lying on the sidewalk, several passers-by, including an employee from a restaurant nearby, tried to wake him.
The restaurant employee even sprinkled water on his face, but when the delivery rider did not wake up, called for an ambulance.
When the ambulance arrived, medical staff confirmed that the delivery rider was purely exhausted due to the hot weather and also fasting, and was otherwise fine.
After a video of the incident was uploaded on social media, netizens acknowledged how tough the job of a delivery rider can be and urged customers to be more kind and understanding.
