THE  Registrar of Societies has given the go-ahead for members of former opposition Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) to join the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) party  - a component of the ruling Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

The existing three state assemblymen of the now-dissolved PSB are also cleared to join PDP, a source told The Vibes today.

"A Unity Night will be held by PDP to welcome all the former PSB members in Sibu tomorrow night.

"The approval from the ROS for the entry of all former PSB members into PDP will be announced during the function.

"PDP will see a huge increase in its members after the Unity Night event," revealed the source.

PDP president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, who is the Tourism Minister and Bintulu MP will make the announcement.

On Feb 18, The Vibes reported that the dissolution of PSB as a political party on Feb 17 was officially approved by the nearly 500 party delegates.

The party leaders passed a resolution to dissolve the party that was in the opposition before.

PSB had three seats in the 82-seat state assembly, DAP two, one independent in Batu Lintang (See Chee How) and GPS 76. - The Vibes, April 5, 2024
