WAN Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as Papagomo, was detained by police today for allegedly insulting the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the arrest was made by Bukit Aman CID’s Special Investigation Unit.
The offending statement was allegedly contained in a two minute and 46 second video clip where he allegedly questioned the king’s decision to grant an audience to the founder of KK Mart over the issue of socks which had the word “Allah” printed on them.
In the same video, he also allegedly claimed that the king had ordered Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, to be charged in court under the Sedition Act.
The case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“He was detained after a report was lodged by a 41-year-old trader who saw the video while going through social media at his home yesterday,” said Razarudin. – The Vibes, April 30, 2024
