A MUSLIM restaurant owner's kind and unselfish act of feeding stray dogs has drawn both praise and criticism from netizens.

Some had even gone to the extreme of threatening to boycott her restaurant, Salai Star.

Taking to social media, the restaurant owner recently expressed how upset and disturbed she was over the hateful messages she received because of her good deed.

In her TikTok video, she explained that all animals are God's creation and she, being an animal lover, would not hesitate to help any creature in need.

"I would even feed monkeys, birds or any animal in need. I have over 50 stray cats at my house ... please do not ruin my business ... I still need to care for them," she said.

She also said that her passion for filming her interactions with strays is her passion and not to publicise her kind acts.

"I have even spent my money to treat injured animals," she said.

“Don’t send messages that tarnish my name and my restaurant. You say you’ll boycott us just because I feed dogs, which you claim is forbidden. That’s not right,” she lamented.

She also makes sure all leftovers from her restaurant are not wasted and used to feed strays.

While some criticised her actions, many more praised her, with some even asking her where her restaurant was so they could frequent it. - November 23, 2024
