WHAT would you do if you found a winning 4D lottery ticket worth RM33,000?
A Singaporean woman displayed an outstanding level of honesty when she handed over a winning ticket which she found at a temple to the police.
According to reports in Shin Min Daily News, the woman handed it over to the police with the hope of it reaching its rightful owner.
The 63-year-old woman identified as Chen was watching a lion dance performance at the Tua Pek Kong temple in Singapore on Feb 3 with her sister when she spotted the ticket.
She then took the ticket home and later realised it was to be drawn on Feb 8 and 9.
Ultimately, the ticket Chen picked up from the temple floor won the first prize of S$10,000 in the February 9 draw.
Chen immediately went to the Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Centre to report the incident and surrender the ticket.
She told the Chinese news outlet that the money did not belong to her and she only wanted to return the ticket to its original owner.
"What's mine is mine, I do not want money that is not mine."
Though the rightful owner of the ticket remains unknown, Chen’s honesty has been widely praised. - February 12, 2025
