SINGAPORE-based wellness brand NestBloom is expanding into Malaysia as part of its regional growth strategy, bringing its modern bird’s nest format into a market where the traditional ingredient is already well established.

The Malaysia entry follows the company’s expansion into Thailand in July and adds another Southeast Asian market to its growing international business.

Bird’s nest is already widely recognised in Malaysia and has long been associated with nourishment, gifting and traditional Asian wellness.

NestBloom’s flagship Bird’s Nest Blooms are made from premium-grade bird’s nests that are cooked, shaped into flower forms and freeze-dried.

To prepare the product, consumers place a Bloom in a bowl, add hot water and allow it to rehydrate for approximately five minutes, during which the delicate flower-shaped Bloom unfurls into a warm bird’s nest dessert.

The company says its products are prepared and freeze-dried in Singapore, while the bird’s nest is sourced from Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Each Bloom contains 30 grams of cooked premium-grade bird’s nest.

The company describes the product as a way of reimagining a familiar tradition by changing how bird’s nest is prepared and consumed.

Traditional preparation can be time-consuming, while ready-to-drink products remain a common format in the category. NestBloom’s approach offers another way to consume the ingredient without requiring the preparation traditionally associated with it.

NestBloom Singapore Business Director Jean Ng said the company believes Asian wellness traditions do not necessarily need to be reinvented, but made relevant to the way people live today.

“Many of us grew up with parents or grandparents telling us what was nourishing for us. But the next generation wants more than tradition alone. They want convenience, experience and products that fit naturally into their lives.

“NestBloom is our way of carrying that wisdom forward without leaving it stuck in the past,” she added.

Jean Ng said the company’s consumer base has expanded beyond traditional gifting to include new mothers and families looking for convenient nutritional foods, alongside wellness-conscious consumers seeking traditional ingredients for modern routines.

Its range has also expanded beyond Bird’s Nest Blooms to include the Nourishing & Recovery Bloom and Silk Essential Series, which incorporates ingredients such as snow fungus.

Founded in 2017, NestBloom has grown through e-commerce, retail, corporate gifting, events and wellness collaborations, with distribution in China, the US, South Korea, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Its products are designed and made in Singapore.

The expansion into Malaysia and Thailand forms part of NestBloom’s wider effort to develop a regional Asian wellness business. The company’s approach is based on the view that innovation does not have to replace tradition, but can create new ways for established products to reach consumers.

NestBloom will be available in Malaysia through Malaysia distributor, retail or e-commerce channels from October 1. – September 7, 2026
