TWO content creators were among six individuals charged in the Magistrate's Court today for their involvement in a violent altercation that took place at a restaurant last week.
Ammar Mohd Nazhan Noralyadi, 29, and Muhammad Hafizul Haiman, 23, both pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them in front of Magistrate Aina Azahra Arifin.
The four other men charged—Abdul Rahim Abd Hakim, 23, Muhammad Ady Putra Amirul Abdul Rahman, 18, Muhammad Al Mubarak Bahauddin Selamet, 28, and Jebat Zulfar Nurfakhrullah Abd Ghapar, 24—pleaded guilty to the charges., Bernama reported.
They were each fined RM500, with the option of serving one month in jail if they failed to pay. The fines were promptly settled by those accused.
All six men were charged under Section 160 of the Penal Code for causing an affray at a restaurant in a Bukit Bintang shopping mall at 10:15 PM on February 25. If convicted, they face up to six months in prison, a fine of RM1,000, or both.
During the court session, Deputy Public Prosecutor Hench Goh requested that Ammar Mohd Nazhan and Muhammad Hafizul be granted bail of RM3,000 each with one surety.
Goh also urged the court to impose a suitable sentence on the four men who had pleaded guilty, to set an example for others involved in similar incidents.
Representing the two content creators, lawyer K. Ramalingam argued for a lower bail amount. He explained that his clients earned a modest income of RM2,000 a month as content creators and had family responsibilities to support.
After considering the request, the court allowed bail of RM3,000 with one surety for both Ammar Mohd Nazhan and Muhammad Hafizul. The next mention date for the case has been scheduled for April 15.
This development follows earlier reports on March 1 that police had arrested 11 individuals in connection with a separate altercation that took place during a boxing tournament involving social media influencers at a shopping mall in Bukit Bintang on February 26. - March 5, 2025
