PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to be discharged from hospital today after successfully undergoing treatment, with his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail saying he is now in good condition.

Wan Azizah said Anwar, who is currently under the care of a team of medical specialists, had responded well to the treatment and thanked the public for their prayers for his recovery.

“I want to convey PMX's greetings because he has undergone (treatment), Alhamdulillah, successfully. Thank you to everyone who prayed for his good health,” she told reporters today.

She was speaking after attending the Semarak Merdeka Parlimen Bandar Tun Razak programme in conjunction with the National Month 2026 celebrations at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Bandar Tun Razak branch office in Kuala Lumpur.

Wan Azizah said she was also scheduled to visit Anwar after attending the National Day programme in Bandar Tun Razak today.

“God willing, I want to go after I make a brief visit. I want to go because, God willing, he will be allowed to leave today,” she said.

Media reports earlier said Anwar was undergoing examinations and a procedure prescribed by his team of medical specialists and was expected to remain under observation for two days.

The Prime Minister's Senior Press Secretary, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, was reported yesterday as saying that Anwar's health condition was improving and that he would continue with physiotherapy under the supervision of the medical specialist team. - August 12, 2026
