AMPANG Member of Parliament, Rodziah Ismail, confirmed her candidacy for the position of PKR Wanita chief for the 2025-2028 term, challenging the incumbent, who is also the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek.

The former Selangor exco and Batu Tiga ADUN announced her intention to contest in the upcoming party elections while speaking at an event in conjunction with International Women's Day in Ampang recently.

"Based on my commitment and over 20 years of experience empowering women, I am optimistic that we can inspire resilience, competitiveness, and the fighting spirit of PKR women to strengthen the national agenda for change.

"Let us all work hard as one team to ensure that PKR Women regain their spirit, unity, and readiness to face the upcoming challenges," she said.

Previously, Rodziah, who is a member of the PKR central committee narrowly lost to Fadhlina by a margin of only 32 votes in the 2022 election.

Fadhlina received 18,923 votes compared to Rodziah, who got 18,891 votes.

PKR is scheduled to hold elections at the division level from April 11 to 20, while the central leadership elections will take place on May 24.

Rodziah added, with the formation of a competent team, she will be able to build a great legacy that will not be forgotten. – March 11, 2025
