MADANI government would be remembered for its boldness in enacting real change – March 17, 2025

THE PROPOSAL to impose a 10-year limit on the Prime Minister’s tenure will require substantial political will across all parties, including the opposition, according to Adam Adli Abdul Halim, the Chief of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK).

Adam, who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasised that the proposed reform would help curb the potential for abuse of power, enhance administrative integrity, and ensure that the nation’s leadership remains vibrant with new ideas.

“This reform demands strong political commitment. Amending the Constitution requires a two-thirds majority in Parliament, and all parties, including the opposition, should unite in support of it,” he said in a statement issued today.

He added if implemented, the MADANI government would be remembered for its boldness in enacting real change. “This is the essence of true reform, the politics of the future,” he added.

Adam reiterated that AMK firmly supports the MADANI government’s reform agenda, which includes the 10-year Prime Ministerial term limit, aligning with the principles of good governance and public trust.

Moreover, Adam reminded the public that this proposal was not a new initiative, having been a long-standing pledge of the Pakatan Harapan coalition since the 15th General Election (GE15).

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the MADANI government’s dedication to pushing through significant reforms, including the constitutional amendment to impose a 10-year term limit for the Prime Minister. – March 17, 2025
