Police investigations led to the arrest of the woman, and she has been remanded for a day starting to assist investigations.

POLICE arrested a woman after she was suspected of beating and pouring hot water on her 10-year-old daughter just for using her make-up.

It was reported that the incident occurred at their home in a housing estate in Batu Berendam, Melaka and was uncovered after her schoolteacher asked the victim why she attended school in normal clothes and not her uniform, reported Berita Harian.

According to sources, the child said that she that she was sick, and the teacher's examination found bruises on her left hand and back.

"The teacher immediately took the victim to her office and called the girl's class teacher for further information."

The victim then recounted the incident around 8 pm on Thursday when she was playing with her mother's make-up found in the bathroom without her knowledge.

"As soon as she realised it, the woman was said to have scolded the victim and hit her with a hand massager, as well as splashed her with several cups of hot water," said the source.

The source also said that at the time of the incident, the victim's siblings were sleeping, and the victim also told her father that she was beaten by her mother.

The school teacher tried to contact the victim's father but received no response before taking the student to Melaka Hospital for treatment, where she was admitted for follow-up care.

Police investigations led to the arrest of the woman, and she has been remanded for a day starting to assist investigations.
