POLICE are investigating the Negeri Sembilan royal dispute from various angles, following several police reports lodged regarding the matter.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said police are focusing on preventing any acts of violence and ensuring that public safety and order are maintained, Berita Harian reported.
"Police have taken preventive security measures to ensure there are no gatherings that could lead to a confrontation.
"They are looking at it from every angle," he said, without disclosing the specific actions the police have taken.
He was asked about the legal provisions being applied in the investigation of the issue, specifically whether it involves the Sedition Act or the Penal Code.
Saifuddin stated that he is leaving it to the police to complete the investigation before deciding whether the investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney General's Chambers.
On the statement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who described the attempt by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim and the Exco to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, as rude and uncivilised, he said it stressed that any attempt to remove a ruler is a serious matter within Malaysia's Constitutional Monarchy system. – September 24, 2026
