Anwar delivers message of unity, integrity, and humanity for Aidilfitri
“May you be in good health and spirits as we mark the end of this blessed month”- March 30, 2029

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called on Malaysian Muslims to reflect on the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan, stating: “We are reminded of the spiritual journey it provides, offering a chance to renew our connection with Allah SWT and foster deeper inner discipline.

In his Special Aidilfitri Message today, he said: “It is my heartfelt wish that this period has helped us grow in integrity, compassion, and understanding, all while reinforcing our commitment to health and well-being.

Anwar recited a reflective verse from the Quran: “Kullu Aam Wa Antum Bikhair”* – May you be in good health and spirits as we mark the end of this blessed month.

“Ramadan serves as a training ground for the soul, a period of reflection and spiritual development, where we aim to achieve the highest level of piety and godliness – *La’allakum Tattaqun* (so that you may attain taqwa, or God-consciousness),”he said.

Fostering Compassion and Solidarity

“This Ramadan, I have had the privilege of participating in various Ihya' Ramadan programmes across several ministries and states, including Selising, Tawau, Chukai, and other locations.

“One of the most significant aspects of these visits has been the opportunity to witness firsthand the experiences of the people at the grassroots level. Listening to their voices, their challenges, and their hopes has provided invaluable insights into the needs of our communities.”

He cherished the chance to observe the effectiveness of the initiatives carried out by the Federal, State, and Local Governments in addressing these concerns.

Strengthening the Nation Through Economic Growth and Social Responsibility

Anwar added: “As we continue to drive economic growth, I want to emphasise that the true strength of our nation lies in our ability to elevate the living standards of the majority of our citizens. This remains a priority in our shared journey towards national prosperity.”

In the spirit of Ramadan and with the arrival of Eid, Muslims must continue to uphold the dignity of all people.

“As we are reminded in the Quran, “Walaqad Karamna Bani Adam” – We have honoured the children of Adam. Human dignity is intrinsic to all of us, regardless of our background or beliefs.

It is essential that Muslims promote mutual respect and understanding among people of all ethnicities and faiths. It is only through this commitment to respect, kindness, and compassion that we can ensure lasting peace and stability in our country.

Celebrating Eid with a Renewed Sense of Purpose

This Eid Mubarak, he encouraged all to embrace the spirit of the season with a deeper awareness of shared humanity. “Let us continue to uphold our moral values and conduct ourselves with integrity and honour, fulfilling our duties with a strong sense of responsibility.”

To everyone celebrating, “I extend my warmest greetings, including to your families and loved ones.

“Let us use this time to forgive one another, renew our bonds, and come together for the common good.”

As for Anwar, he asks for forgiveness for any shortcomings on his part, and pledged to continue striving for the betterment of all, working tirelessly for the welfare of the people.

*Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh* – May peace and blessings be upon you all. – March 30, 2029
