AS Malaysia prepares to celebrates Aidilfitri, the occasion serves not only as a mark of the Islamic fasting month’s conclusion but also as a powerful symbol of unity across the country’s diverse communities, offering a moment for the faithful to express gratitude to God.
The Rulers have called on all Malaysians to embrace the festive period as a time for harmony, togetherness, and reflection.
In Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin extended their well-wishes for a joyful and united Aidilfitri celebration.
"We hope that this celebration will strengthen bonds of unity among all Malaysians, regardless of ethnicity, allowing us to live together in tolerance and peace," the royal couple shared in a Facebook post by the Selangor Royal Office.
Meanwhile, in Pahang, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah emphasised that the month of Syawal serves as a reminder of patience, sacrifice, and true love.
The royal family noted that it is also a time to draw closer to Allah and strive for self-improvement.
"We pray that the arrival of Syawal brings abundant blessings, peace, and prosperity to all," they said in a statement shared on the Pahang Royal Family’s Facebook page.
The royal couple also extended their heartfelt Selamat Hari Raya greetings to the people of Malaysia, especially in Pahang, Sabah, and Sarawak.
In Negeri Sembilan, Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir reminded the people to be thankful for the peace and prosperity they enjoy, urging them to always prioritise humanitarian values.
"At a time when some nations are suffering due to conflict, with their citizens enduring hardships in access to food, medical care, and basic necessities, we must remember to help one another," said Tuanku Muhriz in his Aidilfitri message.
While, in Sarawak, Yang Dipertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar highlighted the significance of Aidilfitri as a celebration of unity among the state's diverse population.
"The open house tradition in Sarawak reflects our unique harmony. This practice not only strengthens family bonds and friendships but also fosters tolerance and love between different communities," he said in his festive message, emphasising the importance of interfaith and interracial solidarity during the celebration.
Across Malaysia, the Malay rulers’ messages underline the spirit of togetherness that defines Aidilfitri, urging all Malaysians to embrace these values during the festive period. – March 31, 2025
