A Man in his 40s was arrested by police on Wednesday after closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage captured him stealing women’s underwear from a home in Kampung Baru Rasah.

Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, confirmed that the suspect was detained after he voluntarily presented himself at a police station at around 9am.

The case came to light following a report by Sinar Harian, which revealed that a woman had been puzzled by the repeated disappearance of her undergarments from her clothesline. The mystery was solved when her home’s CCTV system captured footage of a man committing the act.

In the most recent incident, which occurred on Tuesday, the suspect was seen stopping his lorry beside the victim’s home before jumping over the fence to enter the property and steal the garments.

According to the victim, this was not the first time such thefts had occurred at the residence.

“When my late grandmother was still alive, her underwear used to go missing too when it was left to dry in the garage, but at the time we didn’t take it seriously,” she said.

“I started noticing the pattern when my sister’s and my own underwear began disappearing frequently — once, we lost up to seven pieces in one go.”

Police are investigation the incident. – April 17, 2025
