Disappointment arose over remarks made by Rafizi which they claim amounted to a personal attack against AMK candidate Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim - May 18, 2025

A GROUP of 86 candidates from the party’s youth wing or Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) has voiced disappointment over remarks made by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, which they claim amounted to a personal attack against AMK candidate Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim during the ongoing KEADILAN party election campaign.

In a joint statement released today, the AMK candidates condemned what they described as a negative approach by the party’s deputy president contender, saying it undermined the spirit of openness and healthy competition that has thus far characterised the internal party elections.

“This joint statement expresses our disappointment with Rafizi’s actions, which appear to attack Muhammad Kamil with disparaging and undermining accusations. He has repeatedly belittled the efforts of AMK, which is currently focused on building a new team in a fair, transparent and open manner,” the statement read.

They urged Rafizi to remain focused on presenting his goals, vision, and mission in his bid for the deputy presidency, “without discrediting any party, especially AMK”.

AMK reiterated that throughout the campaign, no personal attacks or insults have been directed at any candidate at either the central or state level. The campaign, they said, has been conducted in a democratic spirit and received positive grassroots support across all teams and allegiances.

The youth wing reaffirmed its commitment to the principle of ‘Kita Semua KEADILAN’ (We Are All KEADILAN), which will remain their guiding stance until the conclusion of the party's election process this year.

This commitment, they added, will be reflected in the upcoming Rapat Angkatan Muda Keadilan 2025 programme.

Signatories to the joint statement include deputy AMK chief candidate Izuan Kasim, vice-chief candidates Taufiq Johari, CM Chiew, and several others, along with 49 candidates for the AMK Central Leadership Council. - May 18, 2025
