HIS MAJESTY Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has announced plans to embark on a Royal Tour (Kembara Diraja) across all Federal Territories of Malaysia.

The King stated that the tour would provide an opportunity to observe firsthand the lives of the people and to distribute tithe to the poor and those from the eight recognised asnaf categories.

His Majesty made the announcement during the 2025 Federal Orders, Decorations and Medals Investiture Ceremony held in conjunction with His Official Birthday at Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Also in attendance were Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah; Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail; Minister of Communications, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil; and members of the Cabinet.

Sultan Ibrahim is well known for initiating the ‘Kembara Mahkota Johor’ (KMJ) or Royal Johor Tour in 2001 during his tenure as Tunku Mahkota Johor. The annual royal expedition was designed to bring the royal family closer to the people by setting aside rigid protocol and travelling across Johor to connect with citizens on a personal level.

Bernama reported that the forthcoming Royal Tour echoes this spirit of accessibility and service, with His Majesty expressing a clear intent to deepen his engagement with the people across all Federal Territories. - June 20, 2025
