POLICE are awaiting a forensic report on a mobile phone as part of their investigation into a case involving a social media influencer accused of sending lewd messages to an underage teenager.

Gombak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir confirmed that the report is essential to complete the investigation paper.

“No charges have been made yet. So far, the forensic report (on the mobile phone) has not been received from the relevant department,” he said when contacted by Harian Metro.

The influencer, a 22-year-old male, had reportedly surrendered himself to the Gombak District Police Headquarters on 22 May to assist in the investigation.

Earlier media reports stated that the individual was alleged to have sent sexually explicit messages to a 14-year-old girl via a messaging platform. - June 8, 2025
