A TEENAGE girl who alleges she was a victim of sexual misconduct by a well-known Malaysian actor and singer is believed to have met the celebrity twice at his concerts prior to the alleged incident, police revealed.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated that preliminary investigations suggest the 17-year-old is a fan of the celebrity.

“Police believe the victim is a fan of the said celebrity,” Hussein told a press conference on Friday.

“From the meetings at several locations, that was where they got to know each other.

“The victim had previously met him twice during the celebrity’s concerts.”

The alleged offence came to light after the teenager’s mother filed a police report.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (Act 792), which covers physical sexual assault without penetration against minors.

Hussein added that the investigation paper has been submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office, and the police are awaiting further instructions.

It was reported that a well-known actor and singer had been arrested in connection with the case involving the 17-year-old student. It is understood that the suspect and the victim became acquainted approximately two months ago.

Police believe the incident took place during the victim’s first visit to a hotel with the celebrity. The suspect was detained on 3 June in Selangor and subsequently released on police bail after giving his statement. - June 13, 2025
