A DECOMPOSED body was found hanging from a tree in a palm oil plantation in Felda Gunung Besout , near Trolak, sparking a mystery in the Muallim district.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Hasni Mohd Nasir said they received information about the discovery from a member of the public at around 5.13pm on Sunday.
According to him, the body was discovered by a local resident who was searching for his missing cattle and spotted the remains hanging from a tree branch approximately 10 metres from the main plantation road.
“Initial checks at the scene found the body in a decomposed state and unclothed,” he said in a statement on Monday.
“No identification documents were found. However, near the location, a women's brassiere was discovered in a drain along with a pair of blue slippers, size 40. A cord resembling a traditional Indian marriage necklace was also seen around the neck of the deceased.”
The remains have since been sent to the Forensic Department at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) in Ipoh for a post-mortem examination.
Mohd Hasni said the case is currently being classified as a sudden death report (SDR) pending post-mortem results to determine the cause of death.
He urged members of the public who may be missing a family member, relative, or acquaintance to assist in the investigation and identification process.
