TWO friends were brought before the Sessions Court in Muar on Tuesday on charges of committing unnatural sexual acts against a disabled teenage girl after administering her with drugs, earlier this month.

The accused, Mohamad Shah Zailan Fikri Abdullah, 25, pleaded guilty while Mohamad Izuan Salleh, 34, did not plead guilty when the charges were presented separately before Judge Sayani Mohd Nor.

Shah Zailan Fikri, who is also a farm worker, faced two charges of sodomy and unnatural sexual intercourse against a 19-year-old victim at a guesthouse in Muar, between 2 and 4 am, on June 7.

Both offenses were charged under Section 377B of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and whipping for each charge against him.

Mohamad Izuan, who works as a laundromat attendant, was charged with committing unnatural sexual intercourse on the date and time of the incident at the same location.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor, Othman Affan Ismail, while both defendants were not represented by a lawyer.

Following Shah Zailan Fikri's guilty plea, the court has set this Friday for the facts and sentencing, while the case against Mohamad Izuan will be mentioned again on July 22 for document submission and lawyer appointment.

The court allowed Mohamad Izuan to be released on bail of RM10,000 and imposed additional conditions, namely that he must report to the nearest police station once a month and must not disturb prosecution witnesses, especially the victim, until the case is resolved.

Meanwhile, at the Magistrate's Court, Mohamad Izuan was charged with possessing 0.44 grams (g) of methamphetamine at a house in Parit Jawa here, at 9 am. on June 9.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and the case is set to be mentioned again on September 19 for a pathology report and was granted bail of RM2,000.

The accused then paid both bail amounts imposed on him. - June 17, 2025
