A MALAYSIAN man has captured the internet’s attention after a video surfaced showing him selling strawberries from the boot of his RM500,000 luxury SUV along a roadside in Mont Kiara, sparking widespread admiration for his humility and industriousness.

The video, which went viral on social media and shared recently on Threads, shows the man parked beneath the iconic Mont Kiara signage, with his SUV’s boot wide open and trays of fresh strawberries attractively arranged for sale.

A steady stream of customers can be seen queueing, unfazed by the upscale setting or unconventional vending method.

One user quipped, “A RM500K car, just to sell strawberries. Mont Kiara folks really are built different,” while others praised the man’s grounded character and his willingness to put in honest work despite the trappings of wealth.

“Most users praised the man’s humble attitude, noting that he was willing to work hard regardless of his wealth or social status,” read one popular comment accompanying the post.

The scene, set in one of Kuala Lumpur’s most affluent neighbourhoods, has been widely shared as a symbol of dignity in labour—reminding many that integrity and effort matter more than image or status. - June 18, 2025
