Student admits to CSAM involving two local victims
Shockingly, the suspect, aged 20, also produced some of the CSAM himself, involving two local child victims - June 19, 2025

THE activities of a university student who possessed 5,000 child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) and adult pornography on his devices were uncovered when he was arrested during 'Op Pedo' recently.

More shockingly, the detestable actions were also self-produced by the suspect, aged 20, involving two local child victims.

The man was arrested on April 29 at Pasir Gudang, Johor, by a team from the Malaysia Internet Crime Against Children (MICAC), the Sexual Crimes Against Women and Children Division (D11) of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Bukit Aman, and the Johor Contingent Police, in collaboration with Google.

Senior Assistant Commissioner Siti Kamsiah Hassan, Deputy Director of D11 JSJ Bukit Aman, said investigations found 5,000 CSAM and adult pornography materials on the suspect’s devices, believed to have been downloaded from the internet. There were also materials suspected to have been self-produced by the suspect, involving two local children.

She said further investigations revealed the suspect sexually exploited two young girls, aged four and nine, who are also his cousins.

"The suspect is believed to have recorded these acts using his mobile phone on several occasions at three different locations—Selangor, Pahang, and Kelantan.

"The police have seized the mobile phone and laptop for further action under Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and Section 292 of the Penal Code," she said to Sinar Harian on Thursday.

Siti Kamsiah said three separate investigation papers have been opened for the relevant investigations in the related contingents.

"For the case of possessing CSAM and pornography, the suspect was charged in Johor on May 22, pleaded guilty, and paid a fine of RM5,000.

“For the offence of recording acts with the children involved at the suspect’s family residence in Sungai Buloh between 2023 and 2025, the suspect was charged today (Thursday) in Klang,” she explained.

She added that investigations into the recording of one of the victims being bathed in a toilet at an oil palm plantation in Maran, Pahang, are still under the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s (TPR) review.

“For the incident in Kelantan, which occurred last year and this year at the suspect’s grandmother’s house, the investigation is also under the Attorney General’s Chambers review,” she said. - June 19, 2025
