THE Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, was honoured with a ceremonial guard of honour parade in celebration of his 83rd birthday at Dataran Medan Bandar on Saturday.
Accompanying His Highness at the event were the Sultanah of Kedah, Sultanah Maliha Tengku Ariff, and the Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin.
The celebration was attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, Kedah State Secretary Datuk Seri Norizan Khazali, and members of the State Executive Council.
A total of 103 personnel and three officers from the Sixth Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD) participated in the guard of honour, led by Major Muhammad Nasrullah Abdullah. The colours were borne by Lieutenant General Muhammad Alif Izzudin Nasirudin, while Warrant Officer 1 Hermi Bakry carried the regiment standard.
The main guard of honour was accompanied by the RAMD Central Band, conducted by Captain Muhamad Fauzee Japar and assisted by Warrant Officer 2 Aliff Farhan Hashim.
This year’s celebration also featured an aerial flypast involving two EC 120B aircraft from Aviation Institute (INSPEN) 2 and five PC-7 MK2 aircraft from INSPEN 1, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
A 21-gun salute was fired by the 41st Battery of the Royal Artillery Regiment (Ceremonial), led by Major Hafizan Md Ghani from Sungai Buluh Camp in Selangor.
In conjunction with the celebration, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his warm wishes to the Sultan.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the 83rd birthday of His Royal Highness Sultan Sallehuddin,” he said in a post on Facebook.

The Prime Minister also prayed for continued blessings and good health for Sultan Sallehuddin, Sultanah Maliha, and the Royal Family, adding, “Daulat Tuanku.”
The ceremony marked a significant and dignified milestone in the reign of the Kedah monarch, reaffirming royal tradition and public reverence in the northern Malaysian state. - June 22, 2025
