PLANTATION and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani will immediately take on the responsibilities and functions of Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), following the resignation of Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

In a brief statement, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim informed the Cabinet during its meeting on Wednesday that he had agreed for Johari to assume the role.

“Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani will carry out the duties and functions of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, effective immediately,” the statement read.
