AT least four passengers sustained minor injuries when an express bus collided with the rear of a trailer at kilometre 243.9 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS), heading northbound, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Mohamad Khairul Yahya, Chief of the Rembau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Rembau), said his team received a report of the incident at 2.52am and swiftly proceeded to the scene, located approximately 13 kilometres from the station.

"Upon arrival at 3.06am, we found that an express bus had crashed into the rear of a trailer," he stated in a press release issued on Saturday.

"The bus was carrying a total of 30 passengers, comprising 13 adult males, 16 adult females and one child."

He confirmed that four of the female passengers sustained minor injuries, while the remaining passengers were unharmed.

"All passengers managed to exit the bus on their own before the arrival of the rescue team. Both the bus and trailer drivers were also uninjured.

"The Emergency Response Team (PKO) provided initial treatment to the injured before they were handed over to ambulance personnel for further care," he added.

The rescue operation, led by BBP Rembau with support from BBP Kota and BBP Senawang, involved 16 personnel and three fire engines.

The operation was brought under control by 3.13am and concluded at 4.05am. - July 12, 2025
