THE Ministry of Health (KKM) will officially launch its Guidelines on the Management of Bullying in government clinics and hospitals this October, in conjunction with World Mental Health Month, as part of efforts to foster a safe and harmonious work environment free from bullying.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the guidelines, which have been fully completed, will be distributed across all public healthcare facilities under the ministry following their formal launch.
“This initiative aims to strengthen existing support systems, including the MyHelp system, and reflects the Ministry’s commitment to the psychosocial wellbeing of healthcare workers,” he said in a media statement issued yesterday.
The guidelines are expected to outline clear procedures for reporting bullying incidents, along with prevention strategies and intervention measures at both individual and organisational levels.
The initiative follows the earlier launch of the MyHelp system on 1 October 2022, an online platform enabling transparent reporting of bullying incidents within healthcare premises.
Through MyHelp, victims can lodge complaints directly with the Integrity Unit at KKM’s headquarters, bypassing the need to report through supervisors or department heads.
Of the 355 reports submitted via MyHelp up to September last year, four cases involving medical staff were found to be substantiated and subsequently acted upon by the Ministry. - July 13, 2025
