FORMER Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad left the Picnic & Potluck programme early this morning after reportedly feeling a little tired.

The programme, which was held at Tasik Putrajaya next to the Perdana Leadership Foundation, was held in conjunction with his 100th birthday celebration on July 10 and the 99th birthday of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali on July 12.

Dr Mahathir, who is also the fourth and seventh Prime Minister, arrived at 7.45am by driving himself before cycling in tandem around the lake accompanied by special security officers.

However, after completing the eight to ninth kilometre round, he was seen to be exhausted and sat down to rest on a chair for a while before heading to the breakfast table.

Among those waiting for his arrival were Siti Hasmah, the Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and Dr Mahathir’s son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir.

More than 500 people attended to enliven the programme by bringing various food to have a leisurely breakfast with their family by the lake.

Dr Mahathir was seen leaving the programme at around 10am before mingling and taking pictures with the crowd.

According to sources, Dr Mahathir and his wife left early to go home and rest.

Meanwhile, Mokhzani said that his father did not have any health problems but was tired after attending a programme yesterday and was short of sleep.

He said that this morning, Dr Mahathir cycled quite a distance, so he felt a little tired.

"After having breakfast and eating some kuih and coffee, he felt refreshed," he said. – July 13, 2025
