FORMER prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is mourning the loss of his cat, Kiky.

The former Umno president said this in a Facebook post which included photos of him with the orange-white feline - one showing the cat waiting at the front entrance of a home.

"Kiky is no longer with us, guys.

“Thank you, Allah, for arranging Kiky to be a part of my life all this while. She was very sweet and loving," Najib wrote.

The post has garnered more than 5,000 likes and reactions on the social media site, including from Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, with many offering their condolences.

"Every single day, she would wait by the door for me to come home from work. Rest now, Kiky," Najib added.

Kiky joined Najib's household in 2010 when he was still serving as prime minister and was one of four cats, the others being Leo, Tiger and Simba.

Najib is currently seeking court recognition and enforcement of a royal addendum order that would allow him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest. – July 15, 2025
