Though the summit offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and valleys, is not recommended for every hiker.

According to Italian news report Antenna Tre, the location where missing Malaysian doctor Dr Khaw Bee Ling was found is among the most imposing peaks in the Dolomites, between the Ampezzo Dolomites Natural Park and the Braies Dolomites.

The 60-year-old from Kedah was reported missing on July 17 but hopes of finding her alive were dashed when a SAR helicopter spotted her body at the at the foot of the Croda del Becco slabs last Friday.

The hiker reportedly lost track of her trail before reaching steep, smooth slabs, which led her to fall about 100 meters and end up in a crack.

She had initially separated from her friend to finish her hike, though she later sent a message to her friend that she was lost and needed help.

Reports in the Chinese media said Dr Khaw was a dedicated physician at the Metro Specialist Hospital in Sungai Petani and was an excellent doctor known for her compassion. - July 24, 2025
