MALAYSIANS from all walks of life flooded social media on Sunday with messages of love, prayers and heartfelt tributes in celebration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s 78th birthday, a reflection of deep public affection and continued confidence in his leadership.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in a Facebook post, shared a 44-second video montage tracing his political journey, along with a birthday message: “The entire staff of the Prime Minister’s Office wishes YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim a very happy 78th birthday. May he be blessed with good health, long life, and strength to continue leading the nation towards a just, prosperous and peaceful Malaysia Madani.”

Ministers, state leaders, top civil servants and citizens joined in the chorus of well-wishes.

Bernama cited Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs, Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, prayed for the Prime Minister to be continually granted wisdom and strength to realise the aspirations of Malaysia Madani.

Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, offered her appreciation for Anwar’s resilience and steadfastness in facing challenges, while Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, wished the Prime Minister “continued grace and longevity under the protection of Allah SWT.”

Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, hailed Anwar as a “preeminent statesman who leads with great wisdom,” and Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, added, “May every step you take be guided by divine wisdom and surrounded by Allah's mercy and love.”

The official Malaysia Madani Facebook page posted a 2-minute, 41-second tribute video featuring voices from across the nation — citizens of all ages, ethnicities and professions — each extending birthday wishes to their Prime Minister.

Religious leaders including Federal Territories Mufti Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil, Penang Mufti Associate Professor Dr Mohd Sukki Othman, academic and preacher Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Farid Ravi Abdullah, and motivational speaker Zul Ramli M Razali, were also seen offering collective prayers for the Prime Minister’s wellbeing and continued service to the nation.

In one particularly touching moment, students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Presint 14 in Putrajaya formed a giant human formation of the number “78” to commemorate the occasion.

“From us, the people of Malaysia, we sincerely wish YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim a very happy 78th birthday,” read a caption on social media. “May Allah SWT bestow him with good health, a long life, and enduring strength to lead Malaysia towards justice, prosperity and peace.” - August 10, 2025
