A DRUG syndicate using a condominium unit as a storage facility and modified vehicles to conceal and transport narcotics has been dismantled by the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN), with authorities seizing drugs and assets valued at RM4.23 million.
The syndicate was exposed following a series of coordinated raids in Kuala Lumpur and Melaka last week, based on intelligence gathered by JSJN.
JSJN Director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the operation, carried out between 4.15pm and 6.10pm on 13 August, led to the arrest of two local men and one Pakistani national, aged between 25 and 46.
The first raid, conducted in the compound of a condominium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, resulted in the arrest of a local and a Pakistani man believed to be acting as storekeepers. “Upon checking their persons and a Perodua Myvi they were travelling in, police recovered approximately 26.73 kilograms of cannabis,” said Hussein.
Subsequent inspection of a residential unit in the same condominium revealed a drug storage facility containing an additional 68.11 kilograms of cannabis, 2.58 kilograms of cannabis flower, 42.23 kilograms of ketamine, 143 grams of syabu, and 810 grams of Erimin 5 pills.
Police also seized a car believed to have been modified for drug transport.
A second raid in Ayer Molek, Melaka, led to the arrest of another local man who acted as the syndicate’s coordinator and courier. Authorities confiscated a Toyota Estima and 18.25 kilograms of heroin base.
In total, police seized 94.84 kilograms of cannabis, 2.58 kilograms of cannabis flower, 42.23 kilograms of ketamine, 143 grams of syabu, 810 grams of Erimin 5, and 18.25 kilograms of heroin base. “These drugs are believed to have been smuggled from a neighbouring country for local distribution, with an estimated street value of RM4.16 million,” Hussein said.
Under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, a second Toyota Estima, valued at RM70,000, was also seized in connection with the operation.
All three suspects have been remanded from 14 to 20 August to assist with investigations under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Urine tests revealed the Pakistani suspect tested positive for drugs, while both local suspects, despite having previous criminal and drug-related records, tested negative. - August 19, 2025
