A FORMER school principal lost more than RM1.1 million after allegedly pouring his savings, proceeds from selling land and borrowed funds into a bogus investment scheme promoted on TikTok.

Pahang acting police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the 65-year-old lodged a report yesterday after realising he had been duped.

The victim made 22 financial transactions between Aug 21 and Oct 7, using online transfers and over-the-counter services at different banks in Pekan and Kuantan.

Police said the man first came across an investment advertisement on TikTok on June 21 under the account name Network 1 Agency Sdn Bhd.

He then contacted an individual claiming to be an agent of the company through WhatsApp.

The victim’s losses involved money from several sources, including his personal savings, the sale of land and loans taken to fund the purported investment.

The case is being treated as an alleged investment scam. - October 11, 2026
