SCHOOL staff are among individuals who have been called in to provide statements as police continue investigating the case of a Form Three student who fell from a dormitory building at a school in Sabak Bernam on Monday.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Shazeli Kahar, confirmed that several statements had already been recorded, including from school personnel.
“Investigations are ongoing. Statements have been recorded from several individuals to assist police inquiries… including from the school,” he told Astro AWANI.
Police confirmed receiving a report on the incident yesterday and have since opened an investigation paper under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
Shazeli said the investigation covers multiple aspects, including student safety protocols, dormitory management, and the social background of the victim and his peers.
He also emphasised that it was still too early to confirm any speculation regarding the cause of the incident, including claims of bullying.
The media previously reported that the student, identified as Ahmad Irfan Ahmad Hanafi, is in critical condition after allegedly falling from the third floor of the school’s dormitory building.
His uncle, Muhammad Aidil Mansor, 34, said a CT scan revealed the teenager suffered bleeding on both sides of his brain, a fractured jaw, and lung injuries.
His mother, Siti Muhaini Mohammad Mansor, 43, was quoted saying the family was in urgent need of public prayers as her son remained in a critical state.
She added that the case remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. - August 27, 2025
